Our Process
Step 1:  Repairing your roof We start by replacing all missing and badly damaged shingles and ridge caps throughout your entire roof. Secure all loose and protruding nails. Refasten entire ridge cap to prevent wind damage and birds from nesting in your roof. Step 2: Cleaning your roof After all repairs are complete, we clean all areas of organic growth such as moss , mold ,fungi & lichen by using hand tools as in scrapers and brushes . After all areas are cleaned, we apply an anti fungal detergent to prevent all organic growth from regrowing . We do not recommend power washing cedar roofs, the pressure from a power washer is too high and will damage and erode your cedar shakes. Step 3: Metal flashing sealing The next step is to inspect and recaulk all flashing including : valleys, skylights, chimney flashing & all roof pipes. Also all rusted metal flashings & valleys are primed and painted with two coats of rust preventive paint with choice of color best suitable for your home. Step 4: Clean up After steps 1 - 3 are complete we pick up all shingles and tools from your roof and yard . Then using power blowers we clean your roof of all leaves branches & debris . The same steps are taken to your patio , walkways and driveway. We check and clean all gutters & downspouts to ensure proper drainage. Step 5: Preserving your roof After all prep work is complete we apply a very heavy even application of chevron shingle oil to your roof. Chevron shingle oil is the best available cedar roof preservative on the market today. It is a clear breathable penetrating oil based formula that repels water, protects against harmful UV rays caused by sunlight and prevents organic growth from regrowing on your roof. This is the last step to ensure your roof will be ready for years to come. | |
